POPTRONIK takes a scoot of the web introducing you to new music artists and generally bringing you the buzz on all that is creating a HOT FUSS in the music world.  With a little difference maybe, but definitely cool as!

The HOT FUSS FIVE:

Hatty Keane

HATTY KEANE: Despite her young years, believe us, Miss teen thing Hatty Keane is speeding ahead in the breaking out stakes, and is definitely on top of the crop of the brightest new young talents to take note of. Infact, it’s been a meteoric journey for the 16 year old Manchester singing sensation, spurned on by winning her appropriate age category in the Open Mic UK Competition 2010, subsequently signed and commanding the song writing elite to offer her material – not to mention support slots amongst the highest profiling chart bearing artists N-Dubz, Wretch 32 and Ed Sheeran.

This girl is not tiptoeing around; Hatty Keane is in there like a rocket and literally poised to blow the roof off teen pop as we know it! For the moment her recent release the XI EP featuring massive urban cut “Caught You Out” is garnering heaps of attention whilst showcasing Hatty’s mature vocal flair making her one of the brightest young pop prospects to hit us in a while.  WATCH: “Caught You Out” – Hatty Keane  HERE

If you like what you hear and you live in the upper part of England mostly, Hatty has just revealed some tour dates with word on a major tour support to follow (tour details)

Glorious Inc

GLORIOUS INC Our reliable Swedish comrades have birthed another new electro pop band to have us talking about this week.  Meet Glorious Inc. Veronika Färestål and Tommy Söderman who bring us a zany slant on dance pop by going out of the Scandic box a little and brewing up a not so traditional dance anthem in “All Over You”. Up-tempo euro pop make way for a rootin tootin  rap section from Caramell’s feisty mama Dinah Nah.  Yeah it’s a  kinda stirred-up crazy electro / K-pop  ride this one, but in a good sit –up take notice of us and listen to us kind of way.  Suffice to say, we are now curious as to what might follow next.

WATCH: “All Over You”Glorious Inc. Feat Dinah Nah  HERE

Picture Book

PICTURE BOOK:  We’re in Sitges on a sun-kissed beach already! Well one can wish! For now, bringing us a burst of audio “Sunshine” into our wintry life is Picture Book.

Brothers Dario and Lorne come from a bloodline of party time, mardi gras musicality, inherited from their father August Darnell, known to you more readily as the colourful one of a kind tropical gangster lead singer of Kid Creole and The Coconuts (youngsters go google them!).

Newbies off the shelf they maybe, but Picture Book’s debut offering the “At Last EP” co-written and featuring the vocals of Greta Svabo bech who you’ll have heard most notably on Deadmau5Raise Your Weapon” is a shiny example of an accomplished understanding of what makes a glorious summer sound track. So what if it comes to us in January, we think once the word gets out on these guys, we’ll be hearing a lot more of this in the coming months or at least we should be in our opinion!

Lead single “Sunshine” perfectly fit’s to it’s title, and this little gem, well we consider it the first clubbing anthem of 2012.

At Last EP by Picture Book

Sylver Tongue

SYLVER TONGUE We know not where she hails from or anything about who Sylver Tongue is, background knowledge on this one just doesn’t matter.

What we do know is, from listening to her debut “Hook You Up”, she’s pretty smart at banging out a pretty sparkly synth littered tune, that’s delicate and yet has the power to engulf you with mesmerising waves of calm –quite delightful and quite genius!

We’re not the only ones to think that, a number of high-flanked names are slated to be working with her – on board on this one is James Rutledge (Fever Ray) as producer.

WATCH: “Hook You Up” – Sylver Tongue  HERE and listen HERE.

Team Me

TEAM ME: As Scandinavian indie pop makers Miike Snow are currently quite on the buzz of the music media’s gaze at the moment, let’s not allow Norway’s own triumphant grammy Spellemen Prisen best pop award winners Team Me to become buried under a pile of Miike Snow!

The quirky retro bohemian looking six piece recently caught Poptronik’s attention with an inextricably long titled single “With My Hands Covering Both Of My Eyes I  Am Too Scared To Have A Look At You Now”, we wrongly assumed with such a boldly showy title that it wouldn’t be up too much,  However, we loved it!

As we also quite adore the glacially shimmering, melodicially infectious follow – up “Show Me”.  If Team Me keep to this path of turning out such wondrous feel good indie pop they’ll be up there globally alongside Miike Snow soon enough.

POPTRONIK takes a scoot of the web introducing you to new music artists and generally bringing you the buzz on all that is creating a HOT FUSS in the music world.  With a little difference maybe, but definitely cool as!

This weeks HOT FUSS FIVE…

The Ghosts

THE GHOSTS: Strike up a HOT new indie pop band. The Ghosts take up a former secret member of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool (Alex Starling) at their helm and shake up the dream pop sound with an indie pop twist.

The band were born into being by Alex and session drummer Ian Palmer who were brought together via a mutual friend after both musicians life experiences at the time had been flagged with loss and tragedy. As the power of music will out, the two set about creating new music after Alex played Ian a demo he had been working on. Thus turning a negative into a positive the music began to flow, as did the name choice “The Ghosts” – reflective of their life experiences.

With the additions of Sharna Ferner, Alex Sharman, Dan Whiffin to their number and studio production from Tim Bran (La Roux / Paul McCartney) the band have arrived with a crisp melancholic variant of the traditional synth pop that encompasses and unites forthcoming album “The End”.

Boldly noticeable and contemporary fresh from the off-set of debut single “Enough Time” holds entwined within it’s fabric a nostalgic attribute to the defining 80’s sound of O.M.D.   The accompanying video keeps within the sphere of tragedy and intrigue as starring role honours fall to Actor Chris Clynes  (Peter – A Portrait of a Serial Killer “Story Of The Yorkshire Ripper”  – Feature Film).  It’s all very compelling, mysterious and thought provoking as to just who they are afraid of and running from and to be honest we don’t think it’s no Narnia Adventure.

WATCH  "Enough Time" – The Ghosts HERE

  FOE1

FOE Essentially what we have here in FOE is a sound bubbling up from the post punkette days of the 80’s underground.   FOE AKA Hannah Louise Clarke cuts a striking dash from the genre-nerically modelled pop crowds guided through the sunny suburbs of Candy Pop Avenue into the garbage-esque trash alley by skewed pop makers The Entrepreneurs.

Maverick art school dropout FOE channels an eclectic band of inspirational forces in David Lynch, Alfred Hitchcock and PJ Harvey on her debut album “Bad Dream Hotline” that sees release January 16th.  A peak in on the angst ridden, glitch pop verve comes via lead single “Cold Hard Rock’ (itunes) .

FOE maybe throwing out to the beat of a drum but she isn’t no Nicola Roberts, she’s more akin to older goth sister Siouxsie Sioux or today’s equivalent The Good Natured

Make no bones about it FOE is here to get noticed and she’ll not only do so by going left-of-field on the pop boundaries but also by her self-abolishment of the gothic rule of colouring it down, bolding striking out her colourful presence and art school training manifesting itself rainbow style through her wardrobe and wig collection.

WATCH "Cold Hard Rock" – FOE HERE

Jaeden Zoe

JAEDEN ZOE: What better introduction could you possibly have to Jaeden Zoe than to hear her express it with her resplendent dulcet urban tones via track “Hello Hello”!

What a greeting!  and what a talent!  We are in agreement with Youtube user Yorkstown Ent comment  “You need some dope videos, ebk`s, promo; etc…! something`s off… you have a dope voice & you only have a few views, something`s off! Need to perform as well… the world needs to hear ya dope voice! America`s so small compared to the rest of the world that surrounds it, yadigg?”

So this is why we bring to notice New Yorker Jaeden Zoe, who’s content enough to paint the world gracefully one song at a time with her heartfelt numbers. We definitely think that Jaeden’s talent is undeniable in a Rihanna  / Jennifer Lopez kind of sound, yet soulful enough to be unqiue to her. We enjoy it, and so should the world at large

SCISSOR SISTERS TOUR DJ SAMMY JO:  If you haven’t got yourself your own tour DJ quite frankly you haven’t arrived darlings!  Meet the face and sound that gears the party up for the Scissor SistersDJ Sammy Jo.

Mentored by the finest in the House DJ-ing realm by NYC’s Johnny Dynell. Sammy Jo and Jake Shears met on the clubbing circuit as the Scissor Sisters just started out. When the band hit it big in the UK, Jake invited Sammy to become the Scissor Sisters Official Tour DJ, a team-up that has flourished from 2004 to the present day.

It comes at no surprise at all then, that one of the first remixes to appear on the Scissor Sisters Vs Krystal Pepsy  “Shady Love” falls to Sammy Jo, where-upon he’s edited it into a sweat inducing groove down mix of eleven of the fiercest new and exciting upcoming club essentials around.  From it’s beginning with the Sisters Scissors to it’s finale with Tyson, we can’t argue one bit with these selections – get in on the sound of 2012! For in club circles this is pretty much sold by this this mix.

FEMME: As our readers know by now, we are as keen as mustard to hunt out the best in upcoming new music. Having got wind of just only a new name FEMME and a rather striking press photo, we took our investigative powers onto the web to dig out all the juice on it

After, not very many minutes really, we arrived at Laura Bettinson and her better known performing presence Dimbley and Capper, who astonishingly appear to have had eluded us thus far.  Whoa! going through the Dimbley and Capper back catalogue – we have been definitely loosing out on some quite fabulous innovative and avant guarde music making!

With this message left on Facebook it’s toodle loo Dimbley and Capper. We never knew of you but you sounded really great!

“Happy New Year D&Cers!!! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas too. Today I bring you some sad news and some exciting news. Over Christmas, unfortunately Dimbleby died of a heart attack (too much cheese) and in despair Capper up and left to the Caribbean declaring he was through with the entertainment industry. So me, the dolls and animals were all like SH*IT!! What do we do now? We pondered over this for a while and pulled another cracker and then low and behold what popped out…FEMME. So come and join me on the next chapter, a brand new project that I'd like you to be part of. Head over to the page and 'like' to unlock NEW MUSIC, and LIVE DATES. A new year and a NEW ADVENTURE!! Yippeee! “

Next stop FEMME – this part of the journey we are not going to miss out on!

Take a listen to circulating buzz track “Bring It Back Round” it packs a punch of tribal chant flair that’s a stimulating offering to the senses and breaks new ground on  what’s being touted out there as the sound of 2012 already, at this early stage of the year.  This is just much more our cup of tea personally than Michael Kiwanuka.

HOTFUSS

POPTRONIK takes a weekly scoot of the web introducing you to new music artists and generally bringing you the buzz on all that is creating a HOT FUSS in the pop and electronic music world.  With a little difference maybe, but definitely cool as!

The HOT FUSS FIVE:

Lovers Electric

LOVERS ELECTRIC:  During the summer, Anglo / Australian duo Lovers Electric released their sophomore album “Impossible Dreams” to their current home nation’s Germany and Australia.  Which left us wondering when the rest of Europe / The World might be cut in on the fine electronic pop action that David and Eden masterfully produce.

Early next year came a cry into our inbox!” along with a complimentary track from the album (current Australian single release) in the form of gigantic pop tune “Love Can Save Us” – So BIG on the Brit pop  flavour we felt sure it was coming from Fleetwood Mac.

LISTEN TO / DOWNLOAD: Lovers Electric – “Love Can Save UsHERE

Sojo

SOJO: It’s yet more music from Sweden!  Duo SOJO are one of the Countries newest hot properties, that have been sparking interest worldwide after smashing the through the Scandic Summer with super Swedish techno type offering “I Remember” from the same creative collaborative forces of September’s production team.

Follow-up single “Jumping Jam” looks on further, to steer the duo into a wider realm of club domination.  Whilst it might not be a sound that is altogether something new, it is certainly one that you’d get your sweaty groove thang onto and have a absolute ball by doing so.

SOJO releases are only available in their current home territory at present, but we feel that the world is in need of bouncy pop songs like this and it won’t be long before they’ll be popping up in all major digital outlets worldwide.

WATCH: SOJOJumping JamHERE

Carlos

CARLOS NOBREGA:  EQ readers should already be familiar with Carlos Nobrega.  The multi-talented actor / singer/ songwriter, particularly struck a chord with us, as a fine representative of new Spanish musical discoveries, that push into the pop sphere with a sultry Latin kick.

Carlos’s, single “Pitiful” brought to note a distinct burst of Latin hot Enrique – que – que Iglesias with it. Whilst we’ve been holding out for a super sassy video to compliment it (coming soon we hear!) Carlos has delivered a whammy FREE gift package of remixes, plus goodies equipped to fulfil every Latin beated desire you could possibly harbour.  Aside from the hugeness, but altogether, lovely peppy up-tempo rhythms, the acoustic cut is something of beauty.  It throws in some fragility, bringing home the true meaning to the song with some poignancy that has been over-shadowed elsewhere by the fast-paced dance rhythms.

LISTEN TO: Carlos Nobrega “Pitiful (The Echoes)” HERE / FREE DOWNLOAD: HERE

Carlos Nobrega is definitely amongst one of the most promising new Latin Artists we have discovered in a while.  Acts of such being, we are keen to discover more of, as we bring the Poptronik Festival to Sitges in June – it would be kinda cool to hear more of what’s breaking through in the Spanish electro pop scene.

Papercrows

PAPER CROWSI could sit here waxing lyrical about the Paper Crows all day! In all honesty, it’s summed up like this: it’s totally their delicate eclectic mixings of Emma Panas exquisite vocals and Duncan McDougall’s uncluttered alternative stamp on electronica, that produce a spellbinding formula that has hitherto, since I first heard them, absorbed into the fabric of me.  I just adore them, plain and simple.

It was the cover of Kate Bush’sCloudbusting” that first brought on the Paper Crows chills and thrills of Poptronik’s excitement for the duo.  To be able to own it for FREE has left us beyond words and in desperate wanting for their debut album, scheduled for release this year.

LISTEN TO / FREE DOWNLOAD: Paper Crows – “Cloudbusting” (Kate Bush Cover) HERE

BONUS! FREE DOWNLOAD: Paper Crows – “Gone” HERE

Stereorights

STEREORIGHTS:  We know practically nothing about this new Danish band Stereorights, other than their debut single “Bottleneck” has quite scored a homeland hit for them.

We listened to it.  It is actually, quite something of Indie Pop Brilliance, that we have concluded a hybrid comparison to that of somewhere between Fenech-Soler and Strange Talk a completely worthy description.  In laymans terms this just means it’s very good indeed!

This weeks HOT FUSS FIVE:

Starlings

STARLINGS:  Flying out of the synth city coop, Sheffield four piece Starlings bring out their video to third single “Dark Arts”.  The band fronted by Justin Robson have been gathering critically noted momentum since the beginning of the year, for the duration of which, we have sat back, listened and loved every indie pumped electro breath they have given us.  With a shadowy flick of Vintage 80’s nu-wave pop heritage “Dark Arts” soaks up The Cure and Duran Duran into a sinister steely potion that’s shot a poisoned arrow through our heart, into our pocket and sent us to iTunes to purchase the complete job lot.

WATCH: “Dark Arts” – By Starlings HERE

CAAN

CAAN:  Former Ou Est Le Swimming Pool front man Caan holds the vocal pop sensibilities of an indie pop Frankmusik whose been enveloped in a rushing ambient breeze of exquisite dreamy introspective layering.  Turn on forthcoming Spring single “Every Little Thing” NOW!  it’s yours for a limited time only – for the price of a Facebook “LIKE”.  Follow Caan’s lead. Allow your thoughts to float through the clouds and hit upon his Facebook.

Colour Coding

COLOUR CODING:  Best known as being part of Australian indie pop makers Operator Please. Colour Coding are Drummer Tim Commandeur and Keyboardist Chris Holland.  This primary aside from the band, is an illuminated pop project giving of warmth, the shiniest shimmering keys and sprightly workman’s whistle that once entered your head will ear worm itself in there for the duration of the day or more!  The first taste from a recent 6 month stint of demo-ed catalogue of goodies they have got waiting for us, we are absolutely salivating for the next juicy drop of sunshine pop from Colour Coding to blossom online.

LISTEN TO: “Perfect” – By Colour Coding  HERE

Ruby Frost

RUBY FROST:  To New Zealand with us! Our sound radar has been picking up on the delightful Ruby Frost for a while.  The young quirky pop Princess feeds off her inspiration from Björk and Kate Bush, so she totally stirs up good vibes in our song book!  The latest buzz lifted from Ruby prior to the debut album drop in 2012 is a whimsical shot at a love song called “Porcupine” – tackling the love torn fragilities between the heart and the mind.  Will she ? won’t she? Seal up on Love?  Ruby’s heart seems to be holding her back a little, even though her fantasy filled head wants to go there.

Let’s just say this cutesy pumping indie pop number has captivated our play list over the last fews days, certainly helped along by it’s exuberant feel of The Good Natured / La Roux.  A.D.O.R.E. we certainly do! for a limited time you can swag it off Ruby’s Facebook too.

Outasight

OUTASIGHT: Primarily trading himself as a hip hop rap artist over the past few years, Richard Andrew AKA Outasight now has one HOT party vibe that is currently seeping itself into the mainstream, via a lucrative tele-visual American marketing campaign for soft drink brand Pepsi.  Not hard to see why, pop jubilant “Tonight Is The Night” is fast becoming America’s top party tune of choice, it also got a showing–off on X Factor.  It’s not all about “Party Rocking In The House” with our stateside friends, but it’s certainly on trend to LMFAO, celebrate life and have a bit of fun with your pop songs.

POPTRONIK takes a scoot of the web introducing you to new music artists and generally bringing you the buzz on all that is creating a HOT FUSS in the music world.  With a little difference maybe, but definitely cool as!

This weeks HOT FUSS FIVE:

The-Ready-Set

THE READY SET:  One man electro-popping thrill machine, Jordan Witzigrueter is one youngster who knows how to bash out ear pleasing pop which he has been doing for the last few years or so.  Although it is over the last couple of years that his profile has risen having caught the attention of Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy, who enamoured by the multi-talented Witzigrueter signed him up.

Being a Singer / Songwriter is talent enough for some, but Jordan stretches it to become his own band.  He likes it that way, and we have to say so do we! We find the video that’s just dropped on his latest release “Killer” is uncomplicated in it’s brief and production yet is quite a draw to watch.  If you’re going to be your own band, then why not make your own video as well.  We think it completely embodies what The Ready Set is all about  – that being, bringing foot stomping melodies and joyus electro pop tunes to the masses, which he is currently doing on tour (catch the tour dates HERE).

From hereonin the concept of The Ready Set appears to us, to be bursting with winning potential.

WATCH: “Killer” – The Ready Set HERE

Daley

DALEY: Step up to the mic Daley!  Since his move up to London Town from his roots in Manchester, man boy Daley has captured himself nothing but praise from the live clubbing crowds he has set about entertaining.  Daley’s polished performances and solid soulful pop sound inspired through his child-hood love of Prince and Jill Scott have made him stand out from the crowd, quickly making it to radio play and onto TV. Aside from that he has also been successful in scoring himself musician-glitterai amongst his fans! Damon Albarn had him feature alongside Gorillaz on “Doncamatic”  also he’s impressively shared mic time with Estelle and Wretch 32

Not bad for a years work is it!

In the run-up to a release of his own, Daley recently put together a Mixtape containing fan favourite tracks from his live shows & some new recordings.  The vibe is mostly soul, but some electro does break in there.  We picked out  “Smoking Gun” as being one highly notable electro edged track, that marries together superbly his god given soulful beautiful vocals against a contemporary urban pop layer.  We think this is just stunning actually!  And unknowingly found out that Daley is presently playing this one out all over the media -  so we know this one is more HOTTER FUSS than HOT FUSS don’t we!

Juveniles

JUVENILES: There’s nothing like a bite of french styled synth pop to fire us up, the latest three piece to shoot to prominence on our play list of the last month or so come out of the Kitsune Imprint.

Rennes trio, Juveniles previously having set themselves a benchmark by remixing Yelle’s “Comme Un Enfant”, slotted in comfortably on Kitsune’s  “Good Fun Issue” with their new wave modelled debut release “We Are Young”.  (LISTEN HERE).

With the ink now dry on their sign with Kitsune, and a tidy up of their website, Juveniles offer out FREE for sign-up “Hard Working Girl”. However, unfathomably there is no option to listen to the track! Hmmmmmm…

So let us fill you in! Fans of  Metronomy, Strange Talk, Wolf Gang or New Wave Indie Pop in general should especially take note on this :- By signing up you will receive, a track laden with buzzing shimmering synth’s bound together with a mid-tempo beat, fierce enough to shuffle out some robot moves too.

DOWNLOAD: “Hard Working Girl” – By Juveniles HERE

I-Am-A-Camera

I AM A CAMERA New out of London, Duo I Am A Camera bring to the table “Commuter Love”. A track propelled with brisk baselines, top touched with twinkling synth overtones, tying up in a fluid melody cascading down from a thunder crack cloud, leaving us drenched with the definite feel of the 80’s streaming down upon us.  As it recounts a tale of unrequited love, lust and stalking on the Siberian Railways.

This is NOT your average love song, nor is it your average synth pop tune, its sinister elegance shades it better than that. Although, this is a taster of what I Am A Camera are all about and will be released as a FREE DOWNLOAD on December 4th – so mark your diaries or shoot off to join them on their Facebook now,  for announcements on that.

Enjoy the 70’s horror sci-fi inspired video on this, the duo shot it themselves on their iPhones and Ipads (swanky!)

WATCH: “Commuter Love” – By I Am A Camera HERE

Christa-VI

CHRISTA VI: Forthcoming to the folktronica scene meet Christa VI.  She came to our attention this week via a funky remix of her spring 2012 scheduled release “Your Heart”.   Upon hearing this one we were keen to strip off the synthy remixed layering and check out what lay at the heart of the original.

Much to our delight, we were hit with a lament of folky tranquillity backed by a  simplistic use of electronic elements that quite shot the chills down the back of our neck.

Whereas Florence shines out to many as the face of female pop folktronica, our own personal taste finds her a little too whiney. Christa VI fills in this void for us. Her quite beautifully tumbling earthy vocals, presented against the slightly quirky melody line of “Your Heart” have ensured her a place in ours already.

POPTRONIK takes a scoot of the web introducing you to new artists and generally bringing you the buzz on all that is creating a HOT FUSS in the music world.  With a little difference maybe, but definitely cool as!  This weeks HOT FUSS FIVE:

Lawson

LAWSON: We’ve already been in a state of hot fuss over Lawson, but you know what – we think these boys have the makings of something quite special, so we’re going to jump right in and get steamed up in hot fuss with them again.

Comprising of ex-Avenue boy-bander and Andy Brown, together with Joel Pleat, Adam Pitts and Ryan Fletcher, Lawson are a right virtual gathering born to the world via meeting up through YouTube and Myspace!  In their relatively short time together their harmonised pop melodies have whipped them up a sizeable Lawson army of fans.

Make no bones about it, Lawson have the L factor! – Likeability, it’s instant! As the Lawson fever has grown, it’s seen them spinning off at the high end of tour supports to The Wanted, Avril Lavigne and currently sharing stage with Will Young.  This build up beckons something BIG for 2012 and we say book your tour seat for their own headliner now! HERE infact.

As the band hit the road with Will Young earlier this week, they sent out a delightful croon some  acoustic track via YouTubeStanding In The Dark” which we think is totally ace. Instead of us blathering on about it, you should be listening, watching and loving it!

WATCH: “Standing In The Dark” – By Lawson HERE.

Paolo Albertazzi

PAOLO ALBERTAZZI:  Now if you’ve been an avid EQ reader over the years, you might recognise Paolo, since he is the artist now formerly known as Boyde and it was he who a few years back tickled EQ’s ears with his bouncy electro pop tunes “Are You A Boy Or A Girl” and “Kissing”.

Paolo is as fresh-faced now as he was back then and he’s set to boost our electro waves with some new material under his birth name real soon.  To get us in the mood for what’s brewing from his electro hot melting pot, here’s not one, or two, but three snippets, showing off an all new and bigger, club friendly vibe, we don’t know about you but we can’t wait to hear more of it.

LISTEN TO PREVIEWS of: “Unique", "Girls Do It Better" and "Body Control” – By Paolo Albertazzi HERE.

Jordy Towers

JORDY TOWERS:  It’s been a meteoric climb for Jordy Towers, who until last year was unknown, homeless and had served a jail sentence. Determined to get the life back on track Jordy turned to his love of hip-hop music and instantly caught the ear of The Jackson 5’s Jackie Jackson, who encouraged Jordy to cut his first record which went on to win over Lupe Fiasco as a fan.  There we have it, through a tour with Fiasco a new star is born, as easy as that! Well for some maybe!

Cut to the here and now – with the album prepped, effervescent and wacky Jordy  assaults the hip hop scene with a broadened pop sounding appeal that he’s just taken on the road touring with The Knux.

No testing your toes in the water for Jordy either, his first release on this is a full-on production, Double A sided single “Money Money”  / “Don’t Say It’s Over” win themselves a lengthy cinematic video with Lady Gaga’s Choreographer Laurieann Gibson onboard.

There’s no denying it, all the industry hullabaloo surrounding Jordy is warranted, the boy’s clearly harbouring a huge talent of the type – to quote the lyrics of Tinie Tempah and  Lady Gaga  we think it was "Written In The Stars" Jordy was “Born This Way” tah dah……. a STAR!

WATCH: “Money Money” – By Jordy Towers HERE.

Escort

ESCORT:  Polish up your mirror balls! New York disco orchestra Escort are set ready to give you good reason to send them into spin!

This hot gathering of a band has been entertaining their home turf with their amazing disco edits and club friendly cuts for a number of years, but it is only now that they have strung all their aquired know-how together and released a debut LP.  This is Disco, Disco, Disco, at it’s finest and would beckon the shyest clubbing wallflower from the sidelines for a sweaty freak out on the neon grid disco floor.

To get us in the weekend mood, Escort give out some burn on sultry clubbing track “Makeover”.

LISTEN /FREE DOWNLOAD:  “Makeover” – By Escort  HERE.

Beatrice Eli

BEATRICE ELI: All hail the Swedes! Although this one Mz Beatrice Eli is somewhat of an enigma to say the least. At the beginning of the year we caught sight of a track “Don’t Go” floating around the web, it danced upon our ears delightfully but we were a bit silly and forgot to take note of who the artist was, well boo, boo for us!  We knew in our head that there was something of quite greatness about this project and were going to have to hunt it down again – so eventually we have!  With new ear candy to boot!

We still don’t know much about her, apart from she’s signed on with the Management looking after Wretch 32 and Yasmin. Yet Beatrice’s stunning debut single “Conqueror” has seeped online in a whisper. Cue a lavishly massive broody pop melody, underpinned with dub and heaven sent smokey vocals.  Uncover one the web’s best kept secrets now, we are holding out for much BIGNESS for Beatrice in 2012.

POPTRONIK takes a scoot of the web introducing you to new music artists and generally bringing you the buzz on all that is creating a HOT FUSS in the music world.  With a little difference maybe, but definitely cool as!

This weeks HOT FUSS FIVE:

STRANGE TALK:  Formed a little under two years ago, the pride of Australia’s synth pop heritage remains in good hands with Melbourne’s Strange Talk. Most probably you will not have failed noticing them whip up an online viral storm this spring, with their Cut Copy appealing tracks “Climbing Walls” and “Eskimo Boy” – that won them tour slots alongside The Rapture and Marina And The Diamonds.

In anticipation of the 2012 debut album, we foresee another sure-fire hit in “Sexual Lifestyle” – cue driving baselines, drilling synth pop sequencing and indie pop heavenly harmonizing.  So good were literally lost for words!

LISTEN TO:  “Sexual Lifestyle” by Strange Talk HERE.

LASERS: When it comes to Spanish flavoured, Latin American pop, we tend to know  of it, as all out Shakira hip wiggling, Ricky Martin salsa shaking or Monti Montanez holding a smoulder and general looking all gorge.  All of which we find totally acceptable as the face of Latin pop, but until now haven’t heard of it so electronic steered as we have found in the visionary Lasers.

The band that have been existence for the past two years and are now set to ready their debut album “Juno” at the end of the month.  The album is concentrated of  looping sequences, brisk flowing typically latin formed melodies with a general sense of  all-worldiness about them.  Quite a find indeed to come across a band that out there in Catalonia that isn’t blaring Ibiza rave horns! Lasers provide in “Juno” what would be your perfect chillax soundtrack down on the beach the day after, the party night before.  Infact, let’s have a taste of it now here’s the single

LISTEN TO:  “Solar System” by Lasers HERE.

YADI There is nothing typical about Hannah Yadi! she draws upon her multi-cultured background and purrs out some of the finest left of field pop that we’ve heard  in recent years.  Over the last year, plus, Hannah was been spilling some tracks onto the web that have been garnering up some favourable attention, not least her track “Guillotine” that had music bloggers and industry reps alike crowning her the next Marina, but as we heard she had been working with Starsmith who also prepped Marina, we take that proclamation as coincidence.  One thing is for sure,Yadi is an incredible songstress whose appealing dark emotive pop songs brag a huge potential as a noteworthy artist to firmly hook our radar upon.  Thankfully as she’s recently inked with the Warner Label we are evermore hopeful that she’ll now be seen as a contender as one to watch out for in 2012.

Reflecting these current exciting developments in the Yadi camp, Hannah has just released her first video to a track that first peaked online earlier this year “Sahara Heart”.  Evidently drawing back upon her Algerian heritage, the whole ethos of “Sahara Heart” appears to be that of mystery, intrigue and mystic promise, brooding melodies and smokey vocals. Portaying a forelorn, vulnerable and perhaps a forbidden love. But it is its fragility that is also it’s main draw of power, which cuts right into us and leaves a mark our own “Sahara Heart”.

WATCH / LISTEN:Sahara Heart” by Yadi HERE.

STRANGERS An intriguing three piece outfit from London, that have in the space of only a year come to some respected prominence for their astoundingly good crafting of epic and emotional alternative pop songs.  We first got wind of them via a remix the Paper Crows did on one of their previous efforts and well it just went to cement in our heads that the future of really good alternative pop is looking evermore brighter than it has for some time. Poptronik quite adores the fact that a number of breaking out bands are digging into these melodramatic dark pop leniencies that are making their way into the pop movement at the moment.

Forthcoming release “Promises” is Strangers biggest and boldest release to date, a chugging anthem spawned by the demise of a relationship, which in stark contrast to its storyline is uplifted with a belt of rousing chorus’s set together with the endearing vocal femininity of Lara Smiles.  If you will, we consider this paves the way forward in lovelorn boy / girl duets of the 21st Century.

LISTEN TO: “Promises Feat Lara Smiles” by Strangers HERE.

ENFANT: A DJ-ing trio out of London, comprising of twin Brothers Robin and Ali Owen and additionally Ed Elli, that have taken the turn into making their own music previously in other guitar strung bands but now come together as electronic led outfit Enfant.

Drawing upon inspirational forces of LCD Sound System, Chemical Brothers and Groove Armada, the resultant high energy kick of the dance floor wends it’s way onto the trios first release “Waking Up The Sun”. Fashionably pulsating and funky, as a Daft Punk hang out with Cut Copy would be. If Robin, Ali and Ed’s goal was merely to make music to get the peoples feet burning up the floor, then it’s been groovaliciously achieved.

WATCH: “Waking Up The Sun” – By ENFANT HERE.

POPTRONIK takes a scoot of the web introducing you to new music artists and generally bringing you the buzz on all that is creating a HOT FUSS in the music world.  With a little difference maybe, but definitely cool as!

This weeks HOT FUSS FIVE:

NADIA OH:  As a rule we don’t normally buy into the big cheesiness of the novelty market, but given an excuse and an occasion you just know the web is going to be evermore rife with artists flogging out their jangly wares. Of all the holidays you could put out a celebratory one off too, we’d rather it be the freakish one in Halloween.  Huzzah! whom did we hear banging out an above average vamp-abulously bonkers mad track? well none other than Nadia Oh!  Dance beats, general craziness and she-wolf howls! Pretty much the brew that was our cup of “All Hallows” tea as it happens, you could well say it totally made it our howl-o-ween.  Oh dear, let’s stop there shall we! Do go ahead and enjoy the song.  LISTEN TO: Nadia Oh – "Vampire Night V2" HERE

JACKIE SCOTT:  “I got the chills on the back of my neck” and all the way through my body as New Yorker Jackie Scott struck up a chord! Whoa no half measures here, it’s a full-on electro explosion. Jackie goes in on the hip-rap vibe be-set to a pulsating dance ready flurry of dirty electro buzz – on album pre-curser release “Train Wreck” .  As her Bio quotes she’s a party fun girl with balls bigger than Justin Bieber – at a listen to this we are not left in any doubt about that! Anyway, this track holds promise of a budding electro pop vixen and we couldn’t help but freakishly lush out on its sheer boldness of approach and overall hot mess.  We guess some day’s you just have to unleash your electro party vamp side. Today was one of those days.  WATCH: Jackie Scott"Train Wreck" HERE

VANQUISH: If all the talk of now is about The Saturdays and Little Mix, what does the Girl Band future hold for 2012?  One name that you might be hearing, is that of Vanquish.  This pop quartet of delicious looking lovelies, popped up on the radar about a year ago putting their own kooky fun-filled spin on the formidable B52’s “Love Shack”, it was an attempt of promise that exuded a great burst of energetic pop happiness which is always a good place to start from.

From that initial joyus little pop bubble that surfaced last year, we guess the girls have spent the most part of 2011 honing their own sound and working on their own material, as we’d not heard anything more of them and wondered if they’d wandered off back into the pop dolly cupboard, the place where all failed pop girl bands go.  Thankfully the answer is no on this occasion, we got wind this week that they’ve recently been airing new material and word is that they’ll be bringing this to the public at large in 2012. Yippee! OK this is only a fan made clip of a recent live performance showcasing a new tune “The harder You Love”  – but nonetheless you’ll feel the essence of what’s to come. A somewhat great, solid pop tune, that could put these girls in the market with The Saturdays, Parade, and The Ultra Girls. These girls have evolved into an exciting prospect for 2012 we feel.  Let’s take a look at the video then.  WATCHVanquish"The Harder You Love" HERE

HANNAH SCHNEIDER: The welcome return of Danish alt pop princess Hannah Schneider, proving beyond all doubt that she never put’s a foot wrong!  Hannah’s just dropped the first track release “In The Line Of Fire” to her home land of Denmark it comes off of her 2012 slated album release.

Further growing our admiration at her ability to craft seamlessly flawless, engaging left-of-field popular songs.  “In The Line Of Fire” holds an enchanting presence that is characteristic of Schneider, along with a shade of melodrama, totalling up to be a irresistibly sublime composition of hand claps, radiated with the gentlest trickle of twinkling synths running through it. This is, so, so, beautiful.  For now, we can only hope that it isn’t too long until this has a world-wide release on it.  LISTEN TO: Hannah Schneider – "In The Line Of Fire" HERE

MADAI: You have to clock Madai onto your radar, she is working it as an aspiring pop Diva if ever we heard one.  Born from Cuban descent singer songwriter Madai has been scented out by Pitbull and assigned to his Mr 305 label.  Her first offering through the label “Mayday” works her latin heritage into a big dance club sound that we feel is not going to find itself any trouble in working itself into many DJ’s sets.

We don’t see Madai as another pop puppet, but with potential as big as her lungs to succeed up through the clubs and onto the charts. With Pitbull as a mentor and the production teams of Britney, Beyonce and Christina behind her debut album, all looks set to beckon Madai into pop divadom.

You need proof?,  look no further than landing yourself at her Facebook page and score yourself a listen together with a FREE DOWNLOAD of a huge club banger of a gift called “You Didn’t Understand”  and watch out her NBC interview and performance of upcoming single “Mayday”  WATCH: Madai "Mayday" HERE
